Active Parenting

Attention Parents! Join other parents at this class to discover valuable parenting skills. Learn ages and stages of development, the power of encouragement, skills that will help develop cooperation, responsibility and self-esteem in your children. Also, learn discipline techniques, how to avoid power struggles, and the benefits of active communication skills. The Active Parenting programs have been helping families for over 30 years. Babysitting 101

This class will cover using fun and educational games and activities for kids, how to prepare healthy snacks and what information a young babysitter needs from the parents. We will be using buttercream icing for this class. I be teaching techniques on borders, writing, and flowers by using a flower nail. I will go over the different tips and what they are all used for. These techniques will be more difficult than the techniques being taught in the kids class. We will also work on basing a cake and coloring.

We will be using whipped frosting, it’s light and fluffy and easy to use for kids. I will be teaching you how to use an icing bag and which tips to use for which projects. Some techniques we will work on is basing a cake, coloring the icing, borders, writing, and simple flowers.  If there's time I will also teach how to use royal icing to frost and decorate sugar cookies. For ages 8-15.

Kids can learn to cook and have fun too! We will be learning how to make a kid friendly breakfast, lunch, snack and dinner. We will also be learning some basics of health including hand washing, healthy eating habits and more. This will be a very fun class for children. They will learn recipes and habits they can use all their life! For kids K - 5th.

CPR & First Aid Combo

Get two certifications during one class! CPR and First Aid will BOTH be covered in this class. CPR section: designed to give students the skills and knowledge to recognize and respond to cardiac and breathing emergencies until advanced medical help arrives. Students will receive current Red Cross CPR and AED (Automated External Defibrillator) certification for Adults, Children and Infants current for two years from the date of the class. This class meets OSHA and MSHA requirements, and certification for medical professionals is also available with advance notice to the instructor. The FIRST AID section is designed to give students the skills and knowledge to recognize and respond to sudden medical emergencies such as seizures, diabetic problems, heat or cold related emergencies, or injuries. Certification is current for two years from the date of the class. CPR Professional Rescuer Certification available with instructor notification.
