Adult Ceramics

Whether you are a total beginner or an experienced potter – you are welcome to come enjoy, learn and create! Students will learn to center pottery on the wheel among other things. Bring a friend and come create some unique pieces of pottery! Completed projects will be fired and glazed. A 25-pound bag of clay will be provided for each student. Additional clay may be purchased for $20 a bag at the class.

Randi will guide students to experiment with a variety of artistic techniques and blend art history lessons with hands-on instruction. Kids will learn to express themselves through engaging, creative art projects using various mediums each month and might include acrylics, charcoals, watercolors, painting and drawing. Each month will be a different seasonal project and include inspiration from a different art icon. Supplies are included in the cost, so the only things kiddos need to bring are their enthusiasm and creativity. For ages 8-12. Class meets twice - Nov 12th & 19th.

Coding for Kids

Most of the objects we use today are powered by code. But how does code work? And why has coding become such an important skill? Come to class and learn about the language powering so much of our tech. Students will learn to make a GIF, and how to use coding and math to create digital projects from angles, and have some fun! Coding is for anyone who is curious, and is interested in more than just programming. Studies show it teaches kids logical thinking and problem solving. Kids who learn to code become more creative and gain confidence by tackling problems by themselves. Coding teaches kids to be creative. They can make, break and fix anything they want. For ages 9-11.

CPR & First Aid Combo

Get two certifications during one class! CPR and First Aid will BOTH be covered in this class. CPR section: designed to give students the skills and knowledge to recognize and respond to cardiac and breathing emergencies until advanced medical help arrives. Students will receive current Red Cross CPR and AED (Automated External Defibrillator) certification for Adults, Children and Infants current for two years from the date of the class. This class meets OSHA and MSHA requirements, and certification for medical professionals is also available with advance notice to the instructor. The FIRST AID section is designed to give students the skills and knowledge to recognize and respond to sudden medical emergencies such as seizures, diabetic problems, heat or cold related emergencies, or injuries. Certification is current for two years from the date of the class. CPR Professional Rescuer Certification available with instructor notification.

Desktop Publishing

This class will teach beginners the fundamentals of how to use either Microsoft Publisher (not free software) or Scribus (freeware). Students will learn how to design brochures, newsletters, business cards, and menus. Take your office skills to a new level with desktop publishing.

While many marine biologists study these intelligent and endearing creatures, there are many other interesting topics to discover. We’ll look at facts ranging from the largest whale down to tiny plankton, microbes, and even the seawater itself. Come dive into exploring amazing sea creatures, study life in the oceans, and the ocean itself. For 5th & 6th grade students.
