Joyful Yoga

All Joyful Yoga classes during the Fall 2020 semester will be delivered online via Zoom. After you register for class, you will recieve a receipt email which will include your class Zoom information.

This yoga class will focus on posture, breath, and meditation. Students will work on managing the overall stress of life through yoga and meditation, while embracing the Joy of movement through heart-felt class themes. This class is designed for all levels of experience. Students will need to bring a yoga mat, yoga blocks and blanket. Age Requirement: High school and older.

Nia is a fitness program designed for Every Body based on the body’s intelligent design. Each class brings mindfulness to your movement and is an exhilarating workout leaving you energized, mentally clear, and emotionally balanced. Lisa is a licensed Brown Belt Nia Instructor who motivates and teaches each student to maximize their body’s efficiency and to adapt to their individual needs. Each Nia session offers students low impact cardiovascular conditioning, increased flexibility and agility, strength and muscle definition and relaxation techniques. Students should wear comfortable clothing that will move with you, bring a water bottle and a mat or towel for floor work and relaxation. Must be 13 years old or older.

Tired of that low paying job? Have dreams of college but didn’t graduate high school? We can help! Valley Learning Center offers HiSet and GED preparation classes for all individuals 16 and up who are not currently enrolled in high school. Our classes are small and highly individualized with plenty of one on one instruction. Let the Valley Learning Center help you pave the way for a brighter future. Come in today and begin earning your High School Equivalency Diploma! $20 for new students, $15 for returning students. Day and Evening Sessions Available.

Substitute Teaching

This community class meets the requirements of “at least 24 hours of school district in-service training” as mentioned on the state of Wyoming Professional Teaching Standards Board website. This class is designed to prepare students to become substitute teachers.  It will cover the use and application of lesson plans, elements of instruction, emergency plans, classroom organization and behavior management skills. Students will learn about duties and job descriptions for all levels. Successful completion of the course is based on attendance. Become a substitute teacher with your high school diploma (or High School Equivalency) and this class. Upon completion and with additional observation time, you can meet the requirements to become a certified substitute teacher in the state of Wyoming. Additionally, you will be required to undergo background checks to work in local school districts. That will be announced at the beginning of the class. PLEASE NOTE - All current state requirements to gain your Substitute Teaching Permit are listed online at Requirements are subject to change. If you are not certain of your current eligibility to become a substitute teacher in Wyoming, please check with the Wyoming Professional Teaching Standards Board. If you have ever been a substitute teacher before, and your certification has lapsed, this class is not for RE-certification. Please bring a notebook to class.

What to wear and what to bring? Workout clothes that are easy to move in and that you won’t over heat in. Leggings/Yoga Pants, tee shirts, and clean tennis shoes. Don’t forget your, water bottle and small towel. Who are the certified instructors? Sara Hooten teaches Mondays, Audrey Kemp teaches Tuesdays, and Natasha Maxfield teaches Thursdays.

Do you have a story inside you that is just trying to explode out of you? Let me help you get it out of your mind and put on to paper. This class can help you with short stories, poetry, novels, journaling, etc. It's all a concept and you can implement it into whatever type of story telling that you desire. I will provide notebooks and pens.
