Joyful Yoga
with Black

Yoga is a time to reconnect with a sense of your healthy self.
Yoga classes will be moving to Zoom this Fall. Enjoy your practice from the comfort of home.Enjoy your practice in the comfort of your home. This class will focus on poses, breath, and meditation. Students will work on managing their overall health through yoga and meditation, while embracing the joy of movement through heart-felt class themes. People who practice mindfulness find more peace, compassion, creativity, and courage in their daily lives. Mindfulness allows us to be more present with ourselves and decide how we want to move forward with our health journey. Would you like increased strength, stamina, flexibility, and balance? Yoga will help with that.
This class is designed for all levels of experience. Students will need to bring a yoga mat, yoga blocks, and a blanket.
Michelle Black is an E-RYT 500 as well as an Anusara-Inspired Yoga Teacher, and an Advanced Instinctive Meditation Teacher. She has spent the past six years learning about how all of the vital systems in our bodies work together in our yoga practice. Michelle has taught over 2500 hrs.
Aerobic Dance

Aerobic dance is a fantastic way to keep "the shop open" and get a full body workout. This class offers a fast paced, aerobic workout -- that literally keeps you on your toes. Benefits include strength, conditioning, memory stimulation, balance, calorie burning and most of all FUN!! Join this dance party that includes Latin rhythms, a little hip hop, and a little jazz. Clear your schedule, clear your mind and make YOU a priority on a weekly basis.
Basic Computer Concepts

This class will introduce basic concepts in computer and information technology, including hardware, software, and the internet. Students will learn how a computer works, data measurement, how to use email, download files, and how to use the operating system on their computer to perform basic file management. Skills learned in this class will include: copying, moving, and deleting files; creating folders and compressing folders; and printing your screen.
HiSet and GED Prep Class

Ready for a better job? Have dreams of college but didn’t graduate high school? We can help! Valley Learning Center offers HiSet and GED preparation classes for all individuals 16 and up who are not currently enrolled in high school. Our classes are small and highly individualized with plenty of one-on-one instruction. Let the Valley Learning Center help you pave the way to a brighter future. Start earning your High School Equivalency Diploma today! Come by or call 307-782-6401. There is a $20 prep fee that is collected on the first day of attendance.
Concealed Carry Practical Application

Students will work on the fundamentals of carrying a concealed firearm for self-defense. Students will learn proper technique for drawing their pistol from concealment, reload technique, clearing weapon malfunctions, equipment setup, defensive shooting techniques, and open discussion about personal defense and concealed carry. Pistol and holster work will be done inside the classroom using laser pistols. Do not bring your personal firearms to Valley Learning Center. Please Note: This class is intended for individuals who have a concealed carry permit or just want a Wyoming permit. All students will receive a certificate of completion that can be used to satisfy the state of Wyoming's requirement for firearm training for your Wyoming concealed carry permit. Permits are not issued at this class. You must submit a state application and get a background check, then the state issues the permit. Students must be 18 years old or older. Must be registered no later than Friday before class starts!
Guitar for Kids

Ages: 7 - 12
All levels are welcome to this class! Students will learn different warm-ups, how to read notes on the staff, and how to read TAB. Students will learn how to play a different song in each class. Students will also learn how to play with a pick and how to finger pick. Students will need to bring their own guitar to each class. Ages 7 to 12.

Effective Substitute Teaching

Substitute teachers help make the world go round—without them, schools would not be able to function! Become a substitute teacher with your high school diploma and this class. You will then meet the Wyoming PTSB requirement of “at least 24 hours of school district in-service training.” You’ll learn the use and application of lesson plans, elements of instruction, emergency plans, classroom organization, behavior management skills, and more! Successful completion of this course is based on your attendance. Please bring a notebook. Students will need to have a Gmail account so that they can have access to Google classroom. A portion of the class will be assignments to complete and submit to familiarize students with how to use Google classroom. PLEASE NOTE - All current state requirements to gain your Substitute Teaching Permit are listed online at ptsb.state.wy.us. Requirements are subject to change. If you are not certain of your current eligibility to become a substitute teacher in Wyoming, please check with the Wyoming Professional Teaching Standards Board. If you have ever been a substitute teacher before, and your certification has lapsed, this class is not for RE-certification. Upon completion of this course and with additional observation time, you can meet the requirements to become a certified substitute teacher in the state of Wyoming.
