Introduction to Sewing
with Bambie Argyle
Curious about sewing but not sure where to start? This fun, beginner-friendly class is all about getting comfortable with a sewing machine and learning the basics in a relaxed, no-pressure environment. We’ll cover how to thread and use a machine, sew straight and curved seams, finish seams in several ways, learn characteristics of fabrics and sew a simple project from a pattern.
You’ll get plenty of hands-on practice and make a small project to take home—so you leave with new skills and something you made yourself. No experience needed, no perfection required—just come with a desire to learn!
You will need to bring your own sewing machine (or one borrowed from a friend), sewing tools (fabric scissors, pins, seam ripper, etc.) and fabric (we will talk specific requirements in the first lesson.)
The instructor loves sewing and has over 55 years of sewing experience: sewing for pleasure, teaching sewing and sewing for hire.
Estate Planning/Wills vs. Trusts
with Micheli
Do I need a will? Do I need a trust? Are my little or older kids prepared if something happens to me? Estate planning is the legal planning that helps you control who will inherit your money and property, and who can make medical and financial decisions on your behalf if you're unable to do so yourself. Key documents include beneficiary designation forms, a will, health-care proxy, durable power of attorney, and sometimes, a trust. Come to class and learn how to be prepared for the unexpected.
